Lemon Meringue Pie Original Painting

£ 1,800.00 GBP

Lemon Meringue Pie

Product Details

This painting was created live at Savour Festival in London in July 2022. It's the first piece from my new series 'The Odyssey of Deliciousness' - in which I am exploring the edibility and deliciousness of my subjects. The background is painted using a palette knife and oils using a dash technique which is inspired by the Impressionists to create movement in the painting. This seminal piece portrays an iconic lemon meringue pie dessert, which featured often in the work of my favourite US food artist, Wayne Thiebaud. The light blue and pink background contrast with the lemon yellow making the picture pop.
