Product Details

Chocolate Cake with Cherries on Top is a piece from my cake series. This painting explores the deliciousness of a classic chocolate cake. The background uses a dash technique which was inspired by the Impressionists and helps to create movement in a painting. The cake sits on scalloped edge plate which casts a subtle shadow onto the background. The swirly icing around the base of the cake was painted using a palette knife and mirrors the movement in the background. This painting is the cherry on top of the cake!
